Monson Public Schools Awarded $267,978 in State Grants to Support Literacy Instruction

Monson Public Schools is proud to announce that the district has been awarded a combined $267,978 in PRISM II and PRISM III grant funding to support high-quality literacy instruction and continued improvements in teaching and learning across the district.
The awards include $86,718 through the Partnership for Reading Success in Massachusetts (PRISM) II Grant and $181,260 through the PRISM III Grant.
The funding is part of nearly $25 million in literacy grants awarded by the Healey-Driscoll Administration to schools and districts across Massachusetts. These investments are designed to help districts implement and sustain evidence-based, high-quality literacy instruction and provide educators with the resources and support needed to strengthen student learning.
Through PRISM II, Monson Public Schools will continue its work to strengthen early literacy instruction through the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and evidence-based practices. The PRISM III award will further support the district's efforts to strengthen literacy instruction in later grades, helping create greater consistency and alignment in English Language Arts instruction as students progress through Monson Public Schools.
Together, these grants represent a significant investment in both our students and educators. Funding will help support high-quality instructional materials, professional learning, and the implementation of effective literacy practices designed to provide students with strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
These awards also complement the district's broader work to implement high-quality curricula across grade levels and advance the priorities outlined in the 2026–2031 Monson Public Schools Strategic Plan. By investing in strong instructional resources and ongoing professional learning for educators, Monson Public Schools is working to ensure that every student experiences engaging, rigorous, and effective instruction throughout their educational journey.
