At Monson Public Schools, we are committed to supporting every child’s growth, learning, and development.
As part of that commitment, and in accordance with federal and state law, Monson Public Schools fulfills its Child Find responsibility to identify children ages 3 through 21 who may have a disability and could be eligible for special education or related services.
What is Child Find?
Child Find is a responsibility of all public school districts to identify, locate, and evaluate children who may have disabilities. This includes children who:
Live in Monson
Attend private school within Monson
Are homeschooled
Are not yet enrolled in school
When should I consider reaching out?
If you have questions or concerns about your child’s development, learning, communication, or behavior, it may be helpful to connect with us. Early support can make a meaningful difference.
What support is available?
Monson Public Schools provides:
Screenings
Evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services
Support for young children, including early identification prior to age 3 and services for children ages 3 and 4
All evaluations are provided at no cost to families.
