SCHOOL CHOICE
at Monson Public Schools
Application deadline is May 15, 2026 for the June 1, 2026 lottery.
Monson Public Schools participates in the Massachusetts Inter-District School Choice Program. This program allows families to apply for their child to attend school in a district other than the city or town where they live, if space is available. Each year, the Monson School Committee determines whether School Choice seats will be available and in which grades. When openings are approved, families may apply for their child to attend Monson Public Schools. Notice on the availability of School Choice slots is typically made in March in local newspapers and on our website, www.monsonschools.com.
We are proud to welcome School Choice students into our schools and our community, and we invite you to discover why so many families choose Monson Public Schools.

Why Families Choose Monson
Monson Public Schools is a district where students are known, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our schools offer a strong academic foundation while providing opportunities that help students explore their interests, develop their talents, and prepare for the future.
A Close-Knit School Community
Students are known by name, supported by a caring team of educators, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our smaller school environment and class sizes allow teachers and staff to truly know their students as individuals and build relationships that support academic success and personal growth.
Strong Academic Experience
We are committed to high standards of learning and engaging classroom experiences that support students at every stage of their education. From early childhood through high school, students build strong academic skills while exploring opportunities that prepare them for the future, including Career Pathways programs and Early College opportunities at Monson High School.
Student & Family Engagement
Students in Monson have many opportunities to get involved beyond the classroom. From athletics and music to clubs, leadership activities, and school events, students can explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. Our schools offer many opportunities for families to stay connected, informed, and engaged, helping create a vibrant and supportive school community.
