at Quarry Hill Community School
Our Early Childhood Center (ECC) is Monson Public Schools’ early learning program, located at Quarry Hill. It serves the district’s youngest learners in Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade, providing a nurturing first step in their educational journey.
At the heart of our philosophy is a belief that early childhood should be filled with wonder. Under Principal Penny Manteria’s leadership, our educators create classrooms where curiosity is celebrated, creativity is encouraged, and learning feels joyful. Each child is supported in developing confidence and essential skills, while families are embraced as true partners in the process.
Together, we build positive first school experiences that spark a lifelong love of learning.
School hours:

8:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. for PreK (Full Day), Kindergarten & 1st Grade

8:55 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for PreK Part-Day Program (Ages 3+)
Early release time: 11:30 a.m.
Two-hour delay hours: 10:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.

Be a STAR!
At our school, we believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and valued. Our Be a STAR expectations help children understand what it means to be a kind, respectful, responsible, and safe member of our school community.
Through Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), we teach and practice these expectations throughout the school year. We celebrate students when they demonstrate positive behaviors and provide encouragement and support when they need help making good choices.
Families are an important part of this work! We encourage you to talk with your child about what it means to Be a STAR at school, at home, and in our community. Together, we can help our students build the social, emotional, and behavioral skills they need to grow and shine!
