Monson High School Awarded $72,925 State Grant to Expand Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing Pathway

Monson Public Schools is proud to announce that Monson High School has been awarded a $72,168 grant through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) Education and Workforce Development Grant Program to support the continued growth of the school's Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing Pathway.
Monson High School was one of 68 schools and educational organizations across Massachusetts selected to receive funding through this competitive grant program, which awarded more than $12.3 million statewide to strengthen life sciences education and workforce development. The program supports public schools by funding teacher professional development and the purchase of advanced equipment and technology that bring project-based, real-world learning opportunities into the classroom.
The grant will provide Monson High School students with access to industry-standard equipment, including:
CNC machining equipment
3D printers with laser engraving capabilities
Laser cutters
Handheld 3D scanners
Robotics equipment
In addition to new equipment, the grant supports professional learning opportunities for educators, ensuring students benefit from innovative instruction using current technologies found in today's engineering and advanced manufacturing industries.
These investments will expand project-based learning experiences and help students develop technical, engineering, manufacturing, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for postsecondary education and high-demand careers. Through authentic, hands-on experiences, students will have even greater opportunities to explore career pathways while building the knowledge and practical skills needed for future success.
