February 18, 2021 - Update!

Dear MPS Families -

This evening, the Department of Public Health released their weekly metrics, as they do every Thursday. Please see these metrics below:

Case Count Last 14 Days

Our target: 43

Last week: 30

This week: 20

Additional metrics for your information:

Average daily incidence rate per 100,000

Last week: 25.5

This week: 17.0

Percent Positivity Last 14 Days

Last week: 4.79%

This week: 3.96%

We hit the target for the second consecutive week! Therefore, I am happy to report that our date to return to in-person learning for those families who made this choice for their students will be:

Quarry Hill and Granite Valley - February 22

Monson High - February 23

Please know that all safety protocols and procedures will remain in place on the bus, throughout the school day and in the cafeteria.

If you had chosen that your child continue to learn remotely, that will not change.

I would also like to share with you that we will be participating in the State's Pooled Testing Program. This is an excellent opportunity to ensure that our students remain safe and healthy! Please look for a letter tomorrow outlining what pooled testing is, and how you can register your child to be a part of this initiative. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming our in-person students and staff on February 22 and 23!

Sincerely,

Cheryl A. Clarke, Ed.D.
