KINDERGARTEN
At the Monson Public Schools Kindergarten Program, it is our mission to create a positive, safe, and welcoming learning environment where all children feel supported, valued, and inspired to grow as learners. Our Kindergarten classrooms focus on building a strong foundation in early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and independence.
Through developmentally appropriate instruction and hands-on experiences, students strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills that support a successful transition into elementary school.
School hours are 8:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.

COMMUNICATION
We believe it is important to have two-way communication between teachers and families. Throughout the year, conferences will be held to discuss progress. Also, reports will be sent home three times per year.
CURRICULUM
Our current curriculum follows the Common Core Standards for ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The use of technology is encouraged within the classroom. We use a variety of instructional approaches including whole group, small group, and independent instruction.
SCHOOL CHOICE
The school choice program allows parents to send their children to schools in communities other than the city or town in which they reside. Tuition is paid by the sending district to the receiving district. Districts may elect not to enroll school choice students if no space is available.
