Welcome back to the building!

Dear GV Parents and Guardians,

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to learning on Monday, 2/22! We hope you all had a wonderful vacation week.

Our fully remote learners continue their awesome learning adventure online while our in-person learners will finally be able to enter the school building! Our custodial and facilities staff, along with Mr. T, have been working extremely hard to ensure that we are ready to safely welcome students and staff back into the building FOUR DAYS A WEEK!! That's right-- in person students will be attending GV each Monday- Thursday. Friday remains a remote learning day for all students. Each Friday is a half day, with classes ending at 11:30 am.

Reminders:

* Our nursing staff would like to remind everyone to please contact the nurse's office to inform them promptly if your child is not feeling well. Please provide information about any COVID related illness affecting any close contact(s) of your child to the nurse immediately.

* Please remember to pack an extra mask in your student's backpack, just in case they need it.

* If you have any questions about student bus or van transportation, please contact the transportation department directly at 413-267-4150 X 413 or 414.

* Here is the Pick up and Drop off information for in person learners who are being transported by a family member, etc.

Granite Valley Morning Arrival

Families may begin dropping off their children at 8:40 a.m.

Directions for drop off:

Upon arrival at GV, please follow the signs and painted lines to form a double line, pulling forward to the "STOP" sign. Parents may let their children out of the car ONLY when they are in the drop off zone, and a staff member has signaled to do so. Parents will then exit to the left when signaled by the staff member, following the marked lane.

Buses will proceed to the Bus circle and will unload at 8:50 a.m. Students wanting to eat breakfast will be dismissed from the bus to enter the cafeteria prior to this time.

These procedures are in place to ensure a safe and efficient arrival. For their safety, do not let your child out of the car anywhere else in the parking lot.

Granite Valley Afternoon Dismissal

Parents may begin lining up for dismissal at 2:45 p.m. We ask that you refrain from arriving prior to 2:45 p.m. to keep emergency lanes open as long as possible.

Directions for pick up:

Upon arrival, please follow the signs and painted lines to form a double line stopping at the marked lines--in the same location as the morning 'drop off zone'. A staff member will ask you for your child's name and grade #, so we can dismiss students in the same order as the cars. Staff will instruct you when to proceed to pick up your child after the buses have left the dismissal area. Cars will merge into a single line, and pull up towards the loading dock. Students will be allowed to enter the cars only when the vehicle is past the speed bump. After your student enters your car, please pull away from the curb with caution. Dismissal of students for pick up will begin approximately 3:10 p.m.

After 2:45 p.m. this is the only manner in which students will be dismissed. No dismissals from the office will be permitted between 2:45 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please email Kate at wattsk@monsonschools.com or Joe at trivisonnoj@monsonschools.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sincerely, Kate Watts and Joe Trivisonno
