Update - January 22

Dear MPS Families -

Last evening, the Department of Public Health released their weekly metrics, as they do

every Thursday. Please see these metrics below:

Case Count Last 14 Days

Our target: 43

Last week: 84

This week: 72

Additional metrics for your information:

Average daily incidence rate per 100,000

Last week: 71.5

This week: 61.3

Percent Positivity Last 14 Days

Last week: 12.8%

This week: 10.06%

Because we did not hit the target set by the School Committee of a case count of 43 or fewer

this week, and two weeks of that number is required to transition to in-person learning, the

earliest date for that return is now February 8, assuming our case count is 43 or below the

next two Thursdays. I will keep you posted as always!

In addition, last Friday, the Department of Public Health removed the flu vaccination

requirement that was previously in place for preschool, primary and secondary students.

Although strongly recommended, proof of the vaccine is no longer necessary.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Also, you may email the

School Committee at schoolcommittee@monsonschools.com, as they always welcome

feedback from our families. Thank you for your continued support. Please stay safe!

Sincerely,

Cheryl A. Clarke, Ed.D.

Superintendent
