Lots of News!

Hello Families, We are writing to share several important updates with you. We are excited by all of the upcoming activities and events and embracing the normalcy they represent!

Upcoming dates:

  • Picture days at GV:

    • Wednesday, March 24, 2021 for all students attending in person-- will take place during the school day.

    • Friday, March 26, 2021 for all remote students

      • Grades 1-3 time slot 8:00-9:30 am

      • Grades 4-6 time slot 9:30-11:00 am

      • Families with students in both the 1-3 and 4-6 grade ranges, please choose your preferred time slot.

      • Two ways to pay:

        • Fill out the info on the flyer shared with students, give directly to photographer

        • Complete payment on line-- Please click this link to order.


  • Schedule changes:

    • Friday, April 2nd-- final half day for students

    • Beginning the week of April 5, 2021-- we will return to five full days of school!

    • Grades 1-3 Specials schedule for Term 4, starting on April 5th

      • In Person: PE, Art, Literacy, Music, SEL

      • Remote: SEL, Power You, PE, Art (asynchronous)

    • Grades 4-6 Specials schedule for Term 4, starting on April 5th

      • In Person: PE, Art, SEL, Music Appreciation

      • Remote: PE SEL, health, PE, Art (asynchronous)

      • Music Appreciation will take the place of Band during Term 4


  • March Madness has arrived! GV is getting caught up in the spirit of March Madness by participating in a book reading bracket competition, and multiple activities at each grade level to celebrate the joy of reading! Join in the fun by reading with or to your child this week!

  • GV Change Challenge-- Monday, 4/5 to Friday, 4/16-- A student activities event to support PBIS incentives for students.

  • GVS Spirit Week-- Week of April 12-16:

    • Monday, April 12, 2021: My Hero Monday

    • Tuesday, April 13, 2021: Tropical Tuesday

    • Wednesday, April 14, 2021: Wacky Wednesday

    • Thursday, April 15, 2021: Hat Day

    • Friday, April 16, 2021: GVS Spirit Day



Recognition and Thank you’s

  • It is my honor to announce this year's Grinspoon Excellence in Teaching Award winner-- Mrs. Kate Royce!!! Four nomination forms and letters of recommendation were received on behalf of of Mrs. Royce by MPS staff. She was selected by the MPS Grinspoon committee, which is comprised of former Grinspoon recipients. Kate’s dedication and effort during this challenging year have been nothing short of inspirational. Please join us in celebrating this wonderful educator!

  • Thank you to Ms. Maria Maloney for facilitating our recent GV parent and caregiver conversation focused on supporting students who are experiencing stress or anxiety. We look forward to upcoming sessions focused on supporting healthy use of social media platforms and managing screen time.
