Good Evening Kindergarten Families, We are so excited to see our in person Kindergarten students on Monday, October 19th! Below are the arrival/dismissal procedures. Due to COVID-19, we are asking all parents to remain in their vehicle until staff approaches your vehicle. At that time, you may assist your child out of the vehicle. Please wear masks when exiting your vehicle. If you feel as if your child may have difficulty separating from you at arrival, please email your child's teacher so we can be prepared to best support your child on Monday. Our staff is trained to assist students who may struggle with the morning transition. Parents are not allowed to walk their child to the entrance door or to their classroom. Arrival Parents may arrive between 8:35 and 8:55 to drop off their child. Parents will drop off their child at the main entrance side of the building. A staff member will greet them at the car and assist them to the ECC entrance (former CBO doors). Another staff member will meet them at the doors and assist them to their classroom. In order to ensure social distancing, there will be visual cues inside the building (red X's on the floor) so students wait for staff before proceeding to their classroom. Dismissal Students will be dismissed at 3:00. Please do not arrive any sooner than 2:55 pm. Parent pick up will take place at the main entrance side of the building. A staff member will announce four parent arrivals at a time. Students will be dismissed from their classrooms and board cars in a staggered format, based on the order of vehicles in the pick up log. Please drive slowly in the pick up circle and follow directions from staff. Please wait for the vehicle in front of you to move, do not pass vehicles. Parents will wait in their vehicles and should not park and leave their vehicle while in the parent pick up line. Additional Reminders: Kindergarten students may bring a back pack to school. Please send in fully charged IPAD minis on Monday (charger may remain at home), manipulative kits (pattern blocks, play-doh, letter tiles, scissors, etc. bagged), dry erase boards, journals, and both folders (paper can stay at home). Please keep some supplies at home for remote Fridays, such as crayons, markers, and glue sticks. If you have extra supplies that can be sent in to stay at school, pleae send those in on Monday as well. If not, no worries, we have plenty of supply donations that can be shared! Kindergarten teachers will be sending out additional information on Friday regarding snacks, recess, and specials! We look forward to welcoming the students back on Monday! Have a wonderful weekend! Sincerely, Suzanne Morneau Director of Early Childhood
