Fondest memory from school

Four years with both my softball and soccer teams! We certainly didn’t have the winning success like the teams do now but the bonds I made with my teammates and the memories still carry with me. I can tell you every play that happened my senior year when we were playing in the WMASS championship for softball after all these years!

How did your Monson education prepare you for your current job duties?

Back when I was at MHS I took all the business, marketing and accounting classes that were offered. I knew then I would definitely go in the marketing direction. One of the classes back then was speech with Phil Murray that you were required to take before graduation. I would have never thought so then, but that was a class that taught me so much. Not just for public speaking but the correct way to make a presentation to a large group, which I do so often. All my business courses I have taken both at MHS and in college have helped me prepare for NE Elite and opening your own business. You can find something you enjoy working with the youth, make a little money, and it helps with tax preparation.

What advice would you share with current Monson students about your career journey?

Try and find the right balance. I have two younger children (Molly and Shane) and I wanted to make sure I was available to them as well as continue with my career. In the online affiliate marketing world you can usually find great work-from-home positions that require discipline but, as a Mom, it could not work any better for me. Find a career and job that makes you happy, life is way too short to settle.

Life is always going to be busy with your career and a family, if you choose to have one. Make sure you find time to get involved in your community whether it be with the youth or something else that interests you. It’s very rewarding!
